The Rules I Build By: Inside the 46 Motif

Anyone who's read enough of what I write has probably noticed the pattern by now: a short italicised line, a label underneath it — Rule 46, Reason 46, Principle 46 — and then I move on without dwelling on it. That's the 46 motif. It's not decoration. It's the closest thing I have to a written set of operating rules, and until now I've never put them all in one place.
So here they are — the maxims that actually sit behind the decisions across FourSix46® Global Ltd (Company No. 16712658) and every venture underneath it: Stack46, Cinevenn, 46 Dogs and Route46.
On what gets published
If it can't be verified, it doesn't go live.
RULE 46
This is the first rule because it's the one everything else depends on. No invented client counts, no placeholder testimonials, no rounded-up numbers that sound more impressive than the real ones. Every fact published across FourSix46®, Stack46, Cinevenn, 46 Dogs and Route46 has to trace back to something real — a Companies House record, a trademark filing, a stack that's actually running in production. It's a slower way to build a brand. It's also the only way I trust.
On why the number is everywhere
A name people already recognise is worth more than a name you have to explain.
REASON 46
By the time I registered FourSix46® Global Ltd in 2025, 46 had already been mine for seven years. Every venture since — Stack46, Cinevenn, 46 Dogs, Route46 — inherited that recognition instead of starting from zero. That's not branding cleverness. It's just arithmetic: reused recognition compounds, and invented names don't.
On starting somewhere that isn't zero
Taking over and finishing something properly isn't a lesser story than building it from scratch.
PRINCIPLE 46
Route46 Couriers didn't start as a blank page under FourSix46® — it came to us as someone else's live platform, and Stack46 took it over, enhanced it and re-deployed it. I could tell that story to sound less impressive than a from-scratch build. I don't, because it isn't true. Inheriting a working thing and making it genuinely better is its own discipline, and pretending otherwise for the sake of a cleaner founder narrative is exactly the kind of invented polish Rule 46 exists to rule out.
On building alone versus building with people
Everything I've built started as one person's decision. Nothing stayed that way for long.
LESSON 46
Stack46 is the clearest example — it didn't stay a one-person build, and it was better for it. The rule I take from that: conviction has to start with one person, but it doesn't have to stay with one person. Knowing which decisions are yours alone and which ones need other hands is its own kind of discipline.
On the thing with no revenue model
Success, for me, isn't FourSix46® standing tall. It's FourSix46® standing tall enough that no stray dog on my street goes hungry.
PRINCIPLE 46
46 Dogs has no pitch deck and no timeline pressure, and that's deliberate. It's the one part of the ecosystem that exists because something needs to be built, not because it needs to make money. Every other rule on this page exists in service of getting the parent brand strong enough to make that one real.
On what any of this actually means
The meaning doesn't have to come first. Consistency creates meaning.
LESSON 46
This is the rule underneath all the other rules. None of them started as wisdom. They started as ordinary decisions — a number I liked, a takeover I finished, a team I stopped resisting — that only look like principles now because I stayed consistent with them long enough for them to compound. That's really the whole method: pick honest positions, hold them, and let the repetition do the work that a slogan can't.

It's a recurring device — Rule 46, Reason 46, Principle 46, Lesson 46, Note 46 and Suggestion 46 — used to mark statements of working philosophy across every property in the FourSix46® ecosystem.
"If it can't be verified, it doesn't go live" — the standard applied to every fact published across FourSix46®, Stack46, Cinevenn, 46 Dogs and Route46.
Because the number was already recognised as his before any of the companies existed, so each venture inherited recognition instead of building it from zero.
No. 46 Dogs is the one initiative in the FourSix46® ecosystem built with no revenue model and no timeline pressure, because it exists for stray dog welfare, not commercial return.
