Why 46 Dogs Is the Most Important Thing I'm Building

I want to get something out of the way before I talk about 46 Dogs.
This isn't a PR exercise. It isn't a charity arm designed to make FourSix46® look good. It isn't the social impact section of a founder's website that gets updated once a year and ignored the rest of the time.
46 Dogs is the most personal thing I'm building. And it has nothing to do with business.
Where It Starts
I've loved dogs my entire life. That's not unusual — a lot of people do. But there's a difference between loving dogs and feeling genuinely affected by the ones nobody takes care of.
I grew up in Andhra Pradesh, India. Stray dogs are part of everyday life there — not in a picturesque way, in a real way. Dogs on streets. Dogs searching through rubbish. Dogs looking at you with the kind of quiet patience that makes you uncomfortable if you let yourself really see it.
For a long time, I felt something when I saw them but didn't know what to do with that feeling.
The Moment It Became Something More
There was a specific day — not dramatic, not a single event — where I was watching a group of stray dogs searching for food. Not begging. Not approaching anyone. Just quietly, methodically looking.
And what hit me wasn't the hunger. It was the silence.
They can't ask. They can't say they're hungry. They can't tell you they need water or shelter or help. They just wait, and look, and try again.
That observation — that the most vulnerable cannot advocate for themselves — became something I couldn't put down.
I don't want to be someone who helps when it's convenient. I want to build something that takes responsibility. Something structured. Something that doesn't depend on a good day or a donation drive or media attention. Something that exists, reliably, because it was built to exist.
What 46 Dogs Is
46 Dogs is an initiative being developed within the FourSix46® ecosystem. It's currently in preparation. It doesn't have a launch date yet.
It has no revenue model. And it never will.
What it will have — when it's ready — is structure. Working relationships with organisations that care for strays. Systems for feeding and welfare that don't rely on moments of goodwill. A long-term commitment to reducing stray dog suffering, starting in India.
The goal is simple: no stray dog within reach should go hungry.
Not all of them. I'm realistic. But the ones within reach — yes.
Why This Lives Inside FourSix46®
Because FourSix46® has to be big enough to carry it.
That's the honest answer. A standalone initiative with no revenue model doesn't survive without a parent that can sustain it. So FourSix46® needs to grow — not just for the businesses beneath it, but because that growth is what eventually funds the thing that has no business case.
Success, for me, isn't FourSix46® standing tall. It's FourSix46® standing tall enough that no stray dog on my street goes hungry.
That's not a marketing line. That's the point of all of this.
When
Not yet. 46 Dogs will be built when it can be built properly — with the right partners, the right infrastructure, and the capacity to sustain it long term.
Rushing it would be the worst thing I could do. The dogs don't need a launch event. They need something that lasts.
So I'm building FourSix46® first. And 46 Dogs will come when it's ready. Until then, this is what drives everything else.
